How does this translate professionally?

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Design from the University of New South Wales, specialising in Marketing, Graphic Design, and UI/UX Design. My journey involves both formal education and self-guided learning, which has led me to develop a keen skill set and a love for experimenting with diverse creative tools and software.

I’m truly passionate about using human-centred design to solve problems, better lives and make systems more inclusive.

My approach starts with empathy. I utilise the "five whys" technique to uncover the root of an issue and craft solutions that directly address it. My background in psychology (one year of university studies) provides valuable insights into human behaviour, which informs my UX research.

I want to become a designer who puts myself in the shoes of others, designing not for myself or a business but for a human.

What are my interests outside the realm of design?

I'm a curious explorer and love learning new skills. One such skill is video editing, inspiring me to launch my own YouTube channel. I wanted to document my favourite memories through vlogs since I realised that I never look through old photos.

In my free time I love to go cafe hopping and music festivals, visit museums and read books.

Although this should be only consumed in small doses, I love listening to true crime podcasts and watching psychological thrillers with anyone who will watch them with me. I also have an unhealthy obsession with the show Suits. Despite having no aspirations whatsoever to become a lawyer, I’ve watched all 9 seasons 5 times and counting.

I’m a crafty kid at heart and love anything arts and craft related, whether that’s scrapbooking, painting or jewellery making - propelled by my brief stint of owning an Etsy shop during lockdown.
